Race :: Round 23 - Monaco Takes the Flag!
Click Here for Car Stats & Leader Board
Louis de Montignac of Monaco sprints ahead to the take the checkered flag and victory in the Grand Prix d'Algiers!! Close behind, closing the gap but not quite making it for a final pass, comes Czechoslovakia's ace driver, Vitez Rychly to take 2nd Place. Less than a second behind, the roar of his little orange Bugatti nearly drowns out the screams of his girl, VV, who has just burst into the Press Box behind me!! Coming out of La Bridja, Italy’s Sebi Orsi cuts to the center, a piece of his front left tire flying off, but somehow he holds it on the road yet sees Spain cut to his outside and pass. Both cars are skidding, as Estebàn Blanco inches past the famed Italian, but just ahead looms the wreck of Britain’s Amilcar, blocking the black Bugatti's path. Both cars are now in a race for the finish. Behind, the cars jam together into La Bridja curve, nearly touching as everyone downshifts to take the hairpin. Sweden moves into the lead temporarily but then the daring Belgian flies into the turn in high gear, barely holding on. He passes the pack carrying so much speed it looks impossible for him to now make it out of the curve!! Far behind, Germany presses on in the straight, no doubt hoping that two of the front runners collide or crash, which would put him into the points with an 8th Place finish to.... Hey, that’s my microphone... VV, no! You can't…. I won't let…. (The sounds of a struggle follow.)
