Race :: Round 25 - More Disaster at La Bridja!

Click Here for Car Stats & Leader Board

Spain and Italy now make a desperate run for the finish line, both drivers accelerating in near perfect harmony -- and so the Spaniard, Estebàn Blanco, takes 3rd Place! Sebi Orsi blazes across the finish line even as his tire explodes. Sparks from the wheel rim are flying everywhere as the Maserati skids sideways, then spins around as the last of front tire rubber flies off onto the track! Orsi fights to control his car, spinning backward, then left and now, the car grinds to a stop in front of the press box!!

Everyone jumps up to the edge of the barriers to watch Orsi's car, now oblivious to the approaching racers rushing for the finish line, with Sweden in the lead and tight race for 6th Place now going on. For a moment, it appears everything is okay but then the smoking Maserati catches on fire.

What's that there? My God, it is Rychly's girl, VV. She presses through the throng, leaps the barrier and throws herself onto the cockpit of the Maserati in a desperate bid to save Orsi from the fire. Smoke is rising from his all-but-ruined Maserati, yet a clearly dazed Orsi somehow pulls himself out of the wreckage and staggers onto the track! He appears disoriented as he takes his first step -- he has paused...... He grabs hold of the smoldering wreck and then collapses, but VV -- what is she doing down there!?

Radio listeners -- this is a very dangerous scene, I cannot express this enough. VV has run onto the track and OH MY LORD -- she catches Orsi as he falls unconscious and drags him away from the car! Are those flames? This is VERY dangerous -- the other cars are coming and Orsi's car appears to be on fire while VV pulls him across the track toward the pit lane!

Yet suddenly, the sound of yet one more crash is heard back at La Bridja! The brakes of his white Bugatti T51A gone, Germany has lost control and has hit the hay bales. His car is a total wreck, but somehow Hegkman pulls himself free of the wreckage. He staggers to the side of the track, then rises to his full height and waves to the crowd -- he is alright! Yet what a disaster, three cars have crashed at La Bridja and a fourth at the finish line!
