Race :: Round 18 - Monaco Extends the Lead
Click Here to View Car Stats & Leader Board
Monaco pulls away in a clean breakaway, while Britain continues to make up lost ground and passes a surprised Czechoslovakia, nosing ahead into 2nd place. Italy's Sebi Orsi continues to hound the lead pack from 4th place, but unless one of the leaders makes a serious mistake at La Bridja, he probably will not be able to close the gap before the checkered flag. Behind, Germany slams it into second gear in hopes of avoiding a last place finish, while Finland blazes past, taking 5th place. Spain, Switzerland, and Sweden also flash by Hegkman, with the Swedish Shark waving. Next into of the La Trappe curve are Norway and Belgium, both hammering over the flattened carcass of the goat and going too fast. Seemingly, they are trying to outrun each other and while Norway holds on and passes, Belgium's Victor Hugo Stéphane can only barely control his car despite downshifting. In a cloud of tire smoke and gearbox oil, like Germany, he nearly spins out, but somehow keeps on the track. Now with this, it looks like Hegkman cannot avoid last place in the race unless the yellow Bugatti somehow makes a mistake at the last curve up ahead.

Race :: Round 17 - The Race for the Lead Tightens!
Click Here for Car Stats & Leader Board
Monaco drafts off of Czechoslovakia to retake the lead as Britain puts the hammer down and closes the gap into a tight third place position, his engine issuing a white smoke as he presses to the limits of his RPM. Behind, Germany comes to a stop after a full spin out, kicks the car around and accelerates back into the race -- its as if he's in a restart and it may not even be possible to catch Norway by the time the checkered flag waves. Orsi streaks by Germany, looking over his shoulder to watch the German but then glances farther back to see the rest of the pack's progress through La Trappe. Back at the curve, first Switzerland, then Spain, then Finland and finally Sweden cut to the outside lane and run over the body of the goat in their attempt to negotiate the La Trappe curve. Any hope that Orsi may have had in cooking the goat for a post-race celebration is certainly gone. Belgium and Norway bring up the rear, still not yet making the La Trappe curve.

Race :: Round 16 - Germany Spins Out!

Czechoslovakia's Rychly storms ahead and takes the lead from Monaco as Britain comes back strong into a solid third place. Then shockingly, Germany cuts left to enter La Trappe and is stunned to see the goats run directly in front of his car. He slams on his brakes, but still plows into the herd at incredible speed. Somehow, only one goat is struck, but now, disoriented, Hegkman misjudges the La Trappe curve and loses control in a cloud of tire smoke and brakes. Despite every effort, he spins out, by sheer driving skill saving his white Bugatti T51 from wrecking into the hay bales off the track. Watching the events unfold, Sebi Orsi wisely cuts to the inside of La Trappe. His Maserati speeds up to position himself to pass Germany and soon move next into fourth place. The panicked goats run off of the track completely, heading to the safety of the nearby hill. Farther back, on the straight, Finland hammers past Sweden and joins Spain and Switzerland as they race toward the curve in high gear, while behind, Norway and Belgium bring up the rear, steadily accelerating into what may turn out to be a race against Germany to see who can stay out of last place.

Race :: Round 15 - Monaco Takes the Lead!
Click Here to View Car Stats & Leader Board
Britain's John Milk struggles into the La Trappe curve, downshifting and Monaco skids past into first place, a daring move that finally takes the lead from Britain! Louis de Monignac presses on into the highest gear amidst a cloud of tire smoke and braking as the Alfa Romeo Tipo B slides through the turn, nearly spinning out, but somehow he holds on to rocket into the lead. Behind, quite as daring as the Monegasque, comes Vitez Rychly of Czechoslovakia, skidding and braking as he fights past Britain into second place. As the three cars skid past, the goats panic and begin to run, first one way, then the other and toward the outside lane as Germany’s Hegkman bears down on them!! The goat herder too leaps off the track to the opposite side! Farther back, Italy's Sebi Orsi in his Maserati blazes up into fifth place in a daring move to press his advantage. Now he is eying the German just ahead -- will his lightweight Maserati overtake the German's heavier Bugatti in La Trappe curve? All of the drivers seem hell bent on pressing their advantage, despite the goats! Bringing up the second group, Spain and Switzerland are running neck and neck, with Sweden pressing directly behind to slipstream off of Finland to pass. Finally, at the rear, Norway struggles to catch up.

Race :: Round 14 - The Italian Surprise!

Britain's John Milk accelerates toward La Trappe in high gear, his eyes never leaving the goats ahead. Quickly, he changes lanes to the right, but is stunned to see the goats stop moving across the road but instead turn and head straight toward him in the inside lane. The goat herder now realizes his danger and begins to run, flapping his arms to get his goats to move, but they refuse to turn around and begin to run slowly up the road. Behind, Czechoslovakia and Monaco fight for second place as Germany continues to press on behind. The pack exits out of Sinistere and accelerates down the straight, with Spain skidding through the debris of the previous collision and then slipstreaming into the lead. Suddenly, from behind, comes Sebi Orsi of Italy! The crowd goes wild chanting, "Sebi! Sebi! Sebi!" He has done the impossible, weaving through the two curves and muscling into contention -- and now, no more is he left for dead at the back of the pack! He rockets past into fifth place, saluting the other drivers as he blasts by, his Maserati in high gear, as he looks ahead and considers how to overtake Germany. At the rear, Norway struggles to come into the straightaway toward La Trappe, now far behind. The field is really spread out now. What a race -- and so unexpected!

Race :: Round 13 - Traffic through Sinistere!

Britain's John Milk continues to accelerate toward La Trappe as the goats move across the track. Behind, Rychly speeds past Monaco into second place as Germany comes up behind. Out of Sinistere, it looks like a tight race is developing between the front four, while behind a traffic jam clogs Sinistere as Sebi Orsi suddenly pulls into the midst, braking and swerving with abandon as he races into the pack, bits of tire rubber inexplicably flying off his front tires. What a driver this Italian! He is amazing!! At the rear, Norway seems hopelessly behind, struggling with the gears and the chicane of El Wahid -- is it even possible to catch up!

Race :: Round 12 - Britain Zooms Ahead!
Click Here to View Car Stats & Leader Board
Britain's John Milk strikes forward out of the Sinistere chicane and accelerates down the straight toward La Trappe. Ahead, as his gaze fixes on the upcoming curve, he is stunned to see a herd of goats suddenly start across the track ahead. At these speeds, it will be close -- will they make it across before he comes to La Trappe? What will happen to his car if he collides with the goats? Ahead, the Berber goat herder is seemingly oblivious to the race now underway as eleven cars barrel toward him out of Sinistere!
Behind Milk's Amilcar C6, the field suddenly spreads out as Germany slows to negotiate the curve at Sinistere. Monaco and Czechoslovakia race past the beached French car which skidded to a stop at the entrance to the chicane. As he sails past, Czechoslovakia's Rychly briefly turns to wave at Aristide La Fontaine even as the Frenchman scrambles for the safety of the hay bales. Then, the Czech, perhaps still distracted, clips the Godeschalk's left rear tire as he jockeys past -- or was it on purpose, a replay of the František Borovsky's mountain crash from several years back? Despite the minor collision, the three cars are now perfectly positioned in a group to chase Britain.
Farther back, Belgium leads a second group of cars as they fight their way out of El Wahid. Finally, Norway's Megane Omalie is at the rear, now in danger of falling dreadfully behind as she struggles take the curves, using every bit of her strength against the steering wheel to stay in the running -- racing is not a gentle sport.

Race :: Round 11 - Collision at El Wahid
Click Here to View Car Stats & Leader Board
Britain's John Milk continues to press ahead in a perfect breakaway, now coming through Sinistere and into the straight leading to La Trappe -- without question, he is in the lead, though his driving style has pressed his tires and gearbox to the limit. France and Germany continue in a head-to-head race, with France taking the lead, skidding out of the curve but ending up in a terrible collision with Germany! The French car slams into the hay bales at the edge of the track and is out of the race! What a terrible break for France's finest driver, Aristide La Fontaine!!
To the inside, Finland makes a daring move -- at first thinking to opt for the outside lane, but seeing his way blocked by Italy and Norway, the ice racer presses ahead to rejoins the midst of the pack in the tight confines of El Wahid. Monaco and Czechoslovakia continue in a tight race, while behind a mass of cars jams up into the chicane. Sebi Orsi and the Norwegian, Megane Omalie bring up the rear, but Orsi is perfectly positioned for El Wahid, driving a smooth line into the corner, while Omalie is now facing a difficult proposition in the upcoming curve.

Race :: Round 10 - Melée at Ibn Ziri
Click Here to View Car Stats & Leader Board
Britain's John Milk presses through El Wahid corner, skidding through the turn and nearly spinning out as he presses onward to Sinistere. France and Germany are now in a head-to-head race pressing through El Wahid at high speed as they both attempt to join Milk at the front.
Monaco presses past Rychly while behind, a melée is joined as every driver fights to gain advantage as on the exit from Ibn Ziri curve. Most daring of the lot are Italy's famed driver, Sebi Orsi, and the Norwegian, Megane Omalie. Both round the inside of the curve at Ibn Ziri in high gear, but Omalie misjudges and clips the rear of the Italian’s Maserati.
The battle at the rear of the pack is once again intense, and at the worst time too with El Wahid and Sinistere now looming ahead on the circuit as immediate challenges. Will all of the drivers make it through?

Race :: Round 09 - Dashing through Town
Click Here to View Car Stats & Leader Board
Britain's John Milk continues to press ahead, entering into El Wahid corner. So far, John Milk's race is a nearly perfect example of extraordinary driving skill. Behind, Germany's Hegkman hounds Rychly closely, then passes as the two round Ibn Ziri curve. The rest of the field follows closely as they race through the town. Along the streets, hundreds of spectators are cheering and leaning on the hay bales that line the edge of the track, standing just feet away from the cars as they race past.
From inside the pack, his daring evident, comes Monaco’s star racer, weaving between car after car as he works his way forward, then, as he comes into Ibn Ziri, threading around Sweden, he collides with the Belgian Bugatti! Debris litters the track at the entrance to the curve, creating a hazard for all of the following cars on the two outside lanes. Behind, Italy's famed driver, Sebi Orsi, is forced to shift down in order to skid through the turn and slam on the brakes to hold up short behind Finland's Tavho Myrsky.
Suddenly, France's Aristide La Fontaine makes his move and presses forward in high gear, races straight past the pack on the inside lane, hitting the brakes as he exits Ibn Ziri in a daring move to take second place! This is simply an amazing feat for a driver who started in P12 -- last place -- on the grid!!
And another surprise, Norway flies from behind into the field with a daring dash running at high speed, all alone through what was moments ago a crowded curve at Place Staouéli. Omalie's advantage is to take the corner alone, and she now suddenly cuts past Spain, closing on Myrsky and Orsi. The Italian, however, seems to ignore everything behind him and presses ahead toward Ibn Ziri curve, now intent on overtaking yet more cars before he arrives at the deadly chicane of El Wahid and Sinistere curves.

Race :: Round 08 - Near Disaster in Staouéli Curve
Click Here to View Car Stats & Leader Board
Britain's John Milk presses ahead into Ibn Ziri, his driving skill clearly apparent for all to see. Behind him, traffic tightens as Rychly and Hegkman battle out of the curve through town. Sweden rockets forward in high gear into the mix, but finds traffic so dense, he skids left and hits the brakes, avoiding a collision with Belgium. With all the traffic now blocking the curve, Finland's Muhar finds no alternative but to drop down to 4th Gear, but he's still flying toward the curve at Staouéli -- at the last moment, he cuts to the inside lane and skids up behind France, narrowly avoiding Swedish driver who had even then cut across his path just ahead. Suddenly, from the back of the pack, Sebi Orsi -- the amazing Italian -- proves his Maserati's meddle. Leaving Norway in the dust, he rockets past Spain in a brilliant pass, closing to within inches of Sweden! He's a phenomenal driver, Orsi! I must lift my glass to him!! Orsi! Orsi!! Orsi!!!
Now everyone is rounding the corner at Place Staouéli at once, yet somehow there are no collisions! With the extraordinary traffic, Blanco downshifts, since the risk of collision is just too high, and is now perfectly positioned to race through town clear of the traffic and toward Ibn Ziri, El Wahid and the dreaded Sinistere. Only the Amilcar seems to be outperforming the full line up of the Bugattis at the front today!!
