From inside the pack, his daring evident, comes Monaco’s star racer, weaving between car after car as he works his way forward, then, as he comes into Ibn Ziri, threading around Sweden, he collides with the Belgian Bugatti! Debris litters the track at the entrance to the curve, creating a hazard for all of the following cars on the two outside lanes. Behind, Italy's famed driver, Sebi Orsi, is forced to shift down in order to skid through the turn and slam on the brakes to hold up short behind Finland's Tavho Myrsky.
Suddenly, France's Aristide La Fontaine makes his move and presses forward in high gear, races straight past the pack on the inside lane, hitting the brakes as he exits Ibn Ziri in a daring move to take second place! This is simply an amazing feat for a driver who started in P12 -- last place -- on the grid!!
And another surprise, Norway flies from behind into the field with a daring dash running at high speed, all alone through what was moments ago a crowded curve at Place Staouéli. Omalie's advantage is to take the corner alone, and she now suddenly cuts past Spain, closing on Myrsky and Orsi. The Italian, however, seems to ignore everything behind him and presses ahead toward Ibn Ziri curve, now intent on overtaking yet more cars before he arrives at the deadly chicane of El Wahid and Sinistere curves.
