Britain's John Milk accelerates toward La Trappe in high gear, his eyes never leaving the goats ahead. Quickly, he changes lanes to the right, but is stunned to see the goats stop moving across the road but instead turn and head straight toward him in the inside lane. The goat herder now realizes his danger and begins to run, flapping his arms to get his goats to move, but they refuse to turn around and begin to run slowly up the road. Behind, Czechoslovakia and Monaco fight for second place as Germany continues to press on behind. The pack exits out of Sinistere and accelerates down the straight, with Spain skidding through the debris of the previous collision and then slipstreaming into the lead. Suddenly, from behind, comes Sebi Orsi of Italy! The crowd goes wild chanting, "Sebi! Sebi! Sebi!" He has done the impossible, weaving through the two curves and muscling into contention -- and now, no more is he left for dead at the back of the pack! He rockets past into fifth place, saluting the other drivers as he blasts by, his Maserati in high gear, as he looks ahead and considers how to overtake Germany. At the rear, Norway struggles to come into the straightaway toward La Trappe, now far behind. The field is really spread out now. What a race -- and so unexpected!
